The title of the blog is a pun on the term "mimetic capital," which comes from Henry James's 1890
novel The Tragic Muse
. James uses the term to describe an actor. Marxist writers have used this term too, but James used it first. "Mimesis" is the ancient Greek word for "imitation" or "representation" in the sense that artists and theorists of creativity use the terms. The word "capitol" refers to a building. A blog is not a building, but a blog is a space. Therefore, this blog is a space for creativity. I will write not about myself but about writing and creativity.
